Express train D 120 stops in Geislingen Steige
18518 from the Munich railway depot pulled the train from Stuttgart to Munich as scheduled on Christmas Eve 1929.
In Geislingen, she is given the help of a T20 steam tank locomotive so that she can get her train to Munich on time. So that all passengers (and also the train crew) arrive in time for Christmas.
At a time when people were still working on signal boxes in every train station and were responsible for security and smooth operations, and not computers that were centrally located far away, punctuality and reliability were not an issue.
As usual I start with a sketch and work from the background to the finished illustration. All done in Adobe Fresco and my beloved Kyle T. Webster brushes.
