1907 - 1972
The Brassert colliery was the smaller of the two Marl plants and never had a secure financial basis due to the unfavorable conditions in the parent company. Sinking began in 1907. From 1917 it belonged to the Rheinische Stahlwerke in Duisburg. These had collieries not far away, which also mined coking coal. The gas and gas flame coal that was available on Brassert was more suitable for power plants. In 1972 all shafts were shut down.
The three-coupled tank locomotive type "Hannibal" by Krupp was built from 1933 to 1953 in a number of 75 pieces. It was specially developed for the factory railways in the Ruhr area.
As with almost all of my illustrations, I work from the background to the foreground.
